Bye-bye Beta, Upgrade for fast alerts, business-class reliability, and a crazy discount by Jared Dec 8

In the past 8 months, over 10,000 of you have entrusted AwayFind  (Orchant) to notify you of urgent emails.  We’ve grown pretty good at it, and are coming out of beta today.  Now is the time to upgrade (or sign up) and lock in our early discounts, good through the end of the year.

NOTE: Subscription plans are not yet available for Google Apps Marketplace customers, more on that below.

Why Upgrade Now?

Faster Notifications.  You’ll receive alerts 10x faster on our Yearly Pro plan, with an average wait time of about 60 seconds between when an urgent message is received and you’re notified.

Awesome SMS.  If you’re in the United States, subscription users will receive messages through a full SMS gateway, which means messages will all come from one number, faster, and much more reliably.  If you’re out of the US, you’ll need a subscription plan to receive SMS.

Voice.  Subscription plans offer voice delivery of urgent messages.  Yep, AwayFind will call you and read your urgent message, anywhere in the world.

Security and Branding.  SSL security, your own logo on your contact form, redirecting to your own website.  These are things business users demand.

Crazy discount on WOW features.  Over the next few months we’ll release several features that will kind of astonish you.  We’ll KNOW when a message is urgent based on the content of the email and the context of your message history and upcoming calendar appointments.  If you sign up before Dec 31, you’ll lock in a heavily discounted rate for these features.  You won’t be disappointed.

And if you use Microsoft Outlook or Exchange, you can lock in a discount for when they’re fully supported shortly.  Both will go through beta testing prior to their paid release.

What’s Changing for existing users?

We’ve tried not to take anything away, but instead to add premium features for our new subscription plans.  These are the features that will affect existing users after 30 days:

International SMS and voice calls will no longer be available for free.  (We were pretty clear on this one from the beginning—you don’t want to see our phone bill!)

Email checking frequency will be 3x per hour, with an average wait time of 10 minutes to be alerted about an urgent message.  We tested all sorts of times during the beta period and 10 minutes seemed to work very well for those who use AwayFind for personal use.

Generally speaking, the business-class features (multiple-email account support, SSL, Exchange) are only available with subscriptions.  Our Gmail plugins, iPhone app, IM and Twitter delivery, and similar features continue to be available with a free plan.  Email Gateway SMS within the US are still available for free, for up to 30 messages per month (though it’s not as reliable as the new SMS we are offering for US users).

What About Google Apps Marketplace Users

Lucky you!  Google has been refining the checkout process for the Marketplace, so we’re going to delay a little while on offering subscriptions for group plans.  For now, all Google Apps Marketplace users will have access to the Yearly Pro features.

If you’re a Google Apps Marketplace administrator, feel free to contact us about discounts and promotions for early Marketplace customers.

Charging, and Taking Care of Those You Care About

Charging isn’t so bad.  We have a really amazing team who we need to take care of, and with your support we can live the dream of changing the way people communicate.

If things get real good for us, we’ll return that to you with a product that better helps you to spend more time away from your inbox and with the people you care about, too.

So, please, go ahead and try one of our subscriptions.  I’m so thrilled how far AwayFind has come, and I’m looking forward to what’s possible together in the years ahead!

You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site.
